I get this error (File not found : DVZAddin.dll) on several client machines when starting word. It gives you the option to ok the message but then it comes up again on exiting word.

ANyone have any ideas how to get rid of this error! Seems wierd several machines have this.

Cheers

Are you sure you have the right name for that file?
If so, it looks like an application that somebody has developed for use in Word. Does this sound likely to you? If so it's likely to be either a VB or Delphi question so you may have more luck if you post in those forums.

I am having the same problem with DVZAddin.dll. Simultaneously, Microsoft Outlook 2000 began slow down when "refreshing" from one window to another. I had removed some programs from my desktop, and things began to "fall apart" from that point.

I believe this is a Word Add-in created by DataViz, a partner of Palm Corporation. DataViz uses this to synchronize documents between MS Word and the Palm Organizer. I started receiving the missing DVZAddin.dll error when I had to reset Windows XP to an earlier date. uninstalling Palm and Documents to Go as well as repairing MS Office did not resolve the issue. The solution was to delete and recreate Normal.dot.

When you get the error message (File not found : DVZAddin.dll) it's because there is a dvzaddin.dot file being loaded by Word when it starts.

Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP"

and you will see the .dot file that word is starting. Delte this .dot file and the error message will go away.
