Anyone know of a simple solution to track file and folder movement in a shared directory?

If you enable object auditing in your local security policy and audit changes on the folder itself (through advanced security properties) you can track file changes but not moves and transfers

Thanks, but thats not what I'm looking for, I need it for movements. Out of interest, what rules do I put in for file changes?

Auditing can be setup for both files and folders through the same procedure

Okay, cheers. I can see that in the apply to section. What access options should I apply, as there is nothing there for movement? Also when I apply these rules, do I need to do a reboot or should it take work when I apply?
