I'm an Apple Script newbiee, I have a medium size Filemaker file where I keep all my students information (533 records). I would like to create a script which allows me to generate single databases for each record. To do it manually it would take forever.
But then I got stuck. Applescript does not record my activities on Filemaker and I cannot automatically paste the name for the new database unless I do it manually.
Any hints

Thanks

why in the world would u want to make 533 databases!!!!???

on a Mac, Apple Script will capture keystrokes in the operating systems and you can execute an Apple Script from within Filemaker, but you need to use the FileMaker scripting for actions inside Filemaker. You can build a Filemaker script that performs functions in filemaker such as exporting records and combine that with apple script functions.

That being said, I also would like to know why in the world you would want 533 separate databases.

I need so many databasese because eqach student has different additional field, and they are not compatible so although I tried to kleep only one database It is not useful to quicklly achieve what I need.
This is a film school and everybone has his own project, questionnnarie specific containers references to different web pages and so on.
From the main database I can get the basic infos, but from the single databases I can import data from emails, and keep track of specific works for each.
However I still do not kno how tio automate the process: in Filemaker I cand create a srip which atells the application to erxport into a new database some fields only and assign to the newly done databse the name in the first field (the code) field. I always need to insert the name manually .... and for so many is a great problem.ù
