Hi All,

Can someone suggest a file integrity tool that they have *actually used* or *currently use* successfully and is relatively easy to use?

I am using Ubuntu LTS 8.04

Specifically

I tried (which is really what I'm looking for) but can't get it to compile consistently (after installing Berkeley DB software). I have searched across the Internet but cannot find a resolution.

I have used tripwire way back in the past but it just seemed too unwieldy and very complicated.

I have a list of other tools such as aide, and a whole host of others at sourceforge but before I spent too much time if someone share direct experience that would be great.

Thanks

Is md5sum not an option?

It is but I am looking for a fuller solution.

la-samhna.de/samhain/ seems to fit the bill here.

Thanks
