My client is trying to rename a file extension to lowercase, and whenever she does it keeps on displaying the file extension in caps. Is there a setting which can be changed, so it doesn't happen again? The file name and extension displays like this: IMG_1592.jpg.JPG.

Is, IMG_1592.jpg.JPG, supposed to be a double extension file, maybe that is the problem?

To Rename a file extension, see Control Panel/ Folder Options/ View, uncheck "Hide known file types". This will allow you to Rename the whole file and see the already supplied file extension. If you do not do this then any file extension you supply will be added as part of the file name and appear before the real file extension.
