I am having issues with file corruption in Meridian Mail v12 and v13. I thought doing a clean install to version 13 would resolve the issue it has not. Thinking the data may be the problem I recreated everything from scratch and loaded v13 from the Nortel install tape. The message that popup on the screen is rc=1002, which when I look in the book this seems to mean file corruption. I have replaced the processor, hard drive, cards, etc. The only item that is left is the backplane. Has anyone ran into this problem before? My technican that services the eqiupment is at a loss as well as the folks from Nortel.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You

sounds lika a bad install tape, never had a bad one that would load, but grab a new one, form any site, do the install, and restore from a partial, you will not need to reenter again, a partial does not format the harddrive like a full would. a full does reinstall the os. seems like you have taken all the correct steps. i would suspect the tape before the back plane, although the backplane on the mermail cab is know for needing additional support..

I'll give that a try. My first thought was the install tape, but I tried giving Nortel the beneifit of the doubt.

Thank You

there right more then there wronge, a bad backplane would usually show up more places then just a corrupt file.
