File copy utility

I need to copy large amount of data between servers. What is the best utility to use to avoid having problems like long file names, file is in use & access denied etc.
 
You could take a look at the MS command line tool xcopy which may meet your needs quite nicely.


Alternatively you could look at backing up the data to tape or an external disk and restoring it to the new location. Many backup tools will allow you to skip open files and will manage long filenames for you.

Robocopy is the shizzle. Although powershell is an amazingly powerful utility for admin tasks such as this.
 
I have downloaded MS Robocopy GUI but which switches/options do i have to use to copy everything. Dont seems to get it right.
