Hi Tek-Tip Comrades,

On our Windows 2003 File and Print server, the guy who was in charge put a block on certain files so that users couldn't copy them to the server. On the C drive of ther server, I have no problem moving data. However, on the E drive, I can't move folders from one area to another area on the E drive. If I try, I get the message "Disk is Full". I need to temporarily turn this "feature" off, so I can move some folders that have files that were "grandfathered". Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,
Todd

kinda weird, what's your permission settings for admin is the first thing that comes to mind? You may have to take ownership unless that's a problem...

Are there any diskspace restrictions in place that may cause this?

Sounds like a quota has been implimented.

Right click drive E, properties then quotas tab, and have a lookin there.

Tek-Tips Gurus,

My friends! I have the answer.

With the Dell workgroup edition of Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 R2, more essential storage services are pre-loaded and ready to use – including "file screening".

That's how it was blocked. You can delete the rule, or go to "services" and turn off "file screening" and then turn it back on.

Have a great weekend,
Todd

Have a star for that one, I'll know it now if I ever see it :)
