I have a file on my RedHat EL 2.1 system that begins with a $-sign.
My humble question is. How do I modify, delete, USE this file? for instance 'cat $file' makes it look for a variable calles $file instead of showing the content of the file.
I can only suspect there's a simple step for this... I just can't figure it out. Thanks for you input.

thanks... the single ' worked.
Tried "$file" myself without success :)

Using "$file" doesnt work cause $file would get expanded, as without quotes, \$file or "\$file" would work.
