I renamed a MS Word file on my desktop and now it has been associated with an image viewing programme. I have tried to open this file in Word but it just displays rubbish.
How do I re-associate this file with Word and thus enable me to open it correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Ian.

Make sure the file extension says .doc at the end. Also if you are using Windows Me, you can right click on the file, and goto properties then near the top it says what the file is opened with, and there is a button that says "Change". Click that button to re-associate it with MS word. [deejay]

If you are using W98 click on file to highlight it then hold down shift and right click, then click Open With and pick a new association.

Never thought I'd see Jethro Tull online.
