figuring out correct video driver after rebuild

Is there any way to figure out the exact type of video display/card that is embedded in my MB? I just rebuilt a friend's PC but I forgot to take note of the video driver that he had installed. He has no documentation on his PC, which was a custom built system. Win2K is currently installed on his machine.

Under your Systems properties, go to the advanced tab and click on setting for performance
and choose adjust for best performance

I checked the S3 website and they direct me to S3graphics.com. However, this website comes up "page can't be displayed." Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can find an updated driver for an S3 Trio 3D/2X that will get it to operate with Win2K?

i was wondering the same thing about the utlity, it might not work with win2k even if you find it

Actually, I don't even need the utility...I know what card it is. I just need an updated driver, at this point.

actually Win2k support on S3 Trio 3D, if you go and pick the show all device you can select S3 on the left panel
you will see S3 Trio 3D on the list
so it means windows support it by Microsoft's driver

i check the entire company and sure enough one computer has it under Win2k pro

Believe it or not I already tried that. For some reason it didn't work. after I installed the driver and rebooted the box, the little yellow i icon was still attached to the driver name under computer management.

then you have a conflict or the chipset of your video card is not right

in some cases i seen another device on my computer ie modem cause the video card not to work

i actually just found a website that provides an updated driver the s3 trio 3d/2x for w2k. I'm going to try and install it when i get home tonight.
