Reporting with Crystal v.10, off MS-SQL Server data...

Our SA was asked to delete some fields from a particular table. I deleted the fields from the Crystal Report that had been using them.

Following that, the report is displaying a non-fatal error: 'Field " not found.' I can find no stray quotation mark in a formula nor anywhere else in the report and the deleted fields were not being used to group, etc. I also tried resetting the datasource location to remove the error.

Thanks in advance for your attention and assistance.

Hi,
Try exporting the report in Report Definition format ( may need to be added to your export options) it will show you all the formulas, etc...

That message usually does mean that a formula, group seelction, parameter, etc references one of the fields you deleted from the report.

Thanks! Oddly, the error cleared w/o my fixing it, but I hadn't used RDF before and believe it will be useful in the future.

Hi,
its a good self-documenter, especially if not running in a BOE environment ( which has more ways to examine report objects).
