Anyone know where I can get free information on field relationships in the accpac 5.0 export/import csv file? I am writing an export from a rental package my company developed to be imported into accpac. I have a csv file generated by accpac but can not find any information on what all the columns are used for in accpac.
Accpac is calculating taxes for my customer but certain line items I am exporting should not be taxed. I am trying to find out what flags I need to set to let accpac know not to calculate tax for these lines. I set the amttxbl to zero for lines i don't want tax to be charged for but accpacc still calculates tax for them when I import it.
I would be grateful for any insight

Assuming you're talking about A/R, try setting ARIBH.SWMANTX (Do Not Calc. Tax) to 1.

This looks to be a field in the header. If I flag it won't that cause accpac to not calculate tax for all line items? Is there a per line flag?

P.S. it is AR that I am trying to import into.

Thanks for input!!

Yes, that's in the header. For the details only, try using the SWMANLTX field. "1" should mean "Do not calculate", but the documentation I have isn't clear, it says "Reserved" for that field.

I was confused at first, but looking over my posts I see that I said accpac 5.0. I am actually trying to do this for accpac 5.1. Sorry for the confusion. I do not see the SWMANLTX in the 5.1 export file. Is it called something different?

Thank you for all the help so far.

Nope, it's there in all versions from 5.0 and forward.

This is the export file that I am creating from the rental package. I want to tax everything but the BC PROVINCIAL SALES TAX which should give me a tax base of 37780.00. When I import into accpac it gets a tax base of a little over 39000. Do I need to send over BASETAX1 also?

Wait a minute... You're importing the tax amount, too? That tells me you want nothing taxed.

I'm not sure I am following. If I want accpac to calculate tax on everything but the the 1925 which columns should I include/remove?

I thank you for the input.

Hey Joe,

Thanks for all the help. I found an object model for accpac 5.1. Now it makes a lot more sense to me.
