I am trying to update Crystal 8.5 reports to XI. Is fetch no longer valid in version XI?

I've never heard of a fetch command in any version of Crystal, perhaps you should state requirements instead?

Could it be that you're confusing PL/SQL's fetch from a cursor command?

There may have been a UFL by that name, but you should post what you're trying to do.

What is happening is when I try to run the report that was created in 8.5 in XI I get an error saying the variable is not found. The formula it stops on is:

FetchNumberVar("variablename")

This report runs fine in Crystal 8.5.

THanks for your help but that is not the error I am getting (I am getting the error "variable not found")and I have already tried that solution.

As the whitepaper points out, this is a very old way of doing what is commonplace in Crystal now using shared variables.

If you had already tried that, you would have resolved this.

Convert the formulas to use shared variables, it's simple to do and you eliminate the overhead of a UFL.

I would also suggest that in future posts you state specifics in the beginning, this approach is better suited to blog building than resolving problems.
