I have a MICS 4.0 and am trying to redirect sets to external DID's which reside on another exact system in another office. However, the call rings once to the assigned external set and then disconnects (which is OK if the person sitting there is quick to pick up). I have tried doing the same to my own DID in my office, on a 3rd MICS, just to test. Same failure happens. However, when I forward to my cell and place test calls, it will ring several times. It looks like this is a failure of the receiving set or Norstar system. Anyone had this problem or know what might be the cause?

Thanks

I think you need 4.1 for External Call Forwarding??.
Also you need to setup a route and use the route code to forward I believe.

That's correct, I am using redirect (F84). I am not doing a F4 to an external # since this is not allowed on my 4.0 system. I have allowed redirection for all of the sets and the call actually does redirect to external numbers with F84. It just cuts off when routing to a DID that terminates on any Norstar.

If the calls are redirecting ok to a cell phone, then I'd suspect trouble at the other end. I'd try to find out if the other mics is having trouble with any other inbound calls, and if not, try to get the Co provider involved.

If these are DIDs over a digital trunk you need telco to check the d-channel messages as to why the calls release.

If these are analog DIDs you can test yourself with a butt set in monitor mode at the remote sight.

I have one customer set up with a pri but had to put in a pause as part of the routing table, didn't make sense with a pri but it worked out.

Try setting the lines to LONG on both sites. One of the sites may be seeing a momentary voltage drop as a DS signal.
