I'd really appreciate any feedback and ideas on the following home page. Design wise as well as whether it is easy to use or not easy to understand or not etc

patricia i really like it..i like the way you are using the hand as a whole to represent the company(atleast i think you are..what does it represent exactly? )..and the different positions of the hand to represent the pages thelmselves ,ie: the thumbs up for accolades, the clap for awards,etc..pretty cool..and from my understanding that you are a artist in all since of the word i appreciate the innovativeness..you see in my own time i dabble in a little traditional art aswell..more pencil sketching and things like that..however i haven't seen a pencil in over 8 months except to fill in the little blanks on my exams, but that's a whole other story..

anyways, suggestions?.

i really like the antimatter effect, or the x-ray effect that you have there..the mc for the mouse is cool.. but maybe a little to much of the hand though..

the orange outline around the movie i believe was for your previous site if i remember correctly..doesn't work with the blue duotone you got going on in the hand..

and maybe some motion lines going from the main hand (which could be a tad bit smaller) to the links thelm selves..

just my opinions so don't be mad at me..

No, I'm not mad, of course not. Quite the contrary, I do appreciate you taking the time to look at it and give me your feedback.
Yes, you are right the hand represent the company, and I just run the metaphor for the other categories.
Thanks for the suggestions. Regarding the mc hand, ok, it's noted and you are probably right.
Regarding the orange border arrrrrgh! you just broke my heart! :-( , (who ever said not to take criticism not personally??? LOL) actually it does not come from the previous/current version of artemysia (you'll see, there is no orange border on it (

I'm sorry you dont like it. But I appreciate your input though.
Regarding the animation on the words inside the main hand, I'm not too pleased with it either. I like the movement,but I dont like the end result, the way the words stand in the middle of the hand is not very exciting. I need something more interesting for these texts....
Anyway, thanks a lot!!! criticism is always very helpful.

Sorry! Just hit the wrong button!

I would get rid of the scrollbar on the right! Yes it's still there in IE & PC.
Would also suggest you set zhe hand cursor to invisible when the mouse pointer leaves zhe frame. Sometimes it looks pretty silly hanging there somewhere on zhat beautiful border! Zeriously, it would be a slick touch!

Any comment for the rest of the page though? do you like the use of the hands for the navigation? what about the animation on them? does it feel like anybody would figure out how to find the different sections of the site? Do you like the general design of that page or not too much? Were you serious about the orange border or sarcastic?
What about the text in the center of the main hand? the more I look at it the less I like it. Something is not right... I just cant figure out what

D'abord le prénom c'est François!

Ensuite, en y regardant de plus près, je n'aime finalement pas beaucoup la petite main curseur. Elle fait un peu sqelettique. J'aime beaucoup les differentes mains autour du cadre, mais il y a comme une discorde visuelle quand la petite rencontre les autres. Par contre, au niveau de la clarté pour ce qui est de la navigation, no problemo!
J'aime bien la grande main aussi, mais peut-être que la répétition des items est surperflue et un peu "gimmick"!
Le logo @ pulsant (un peu plus gros) serait peut-être suffisant!

Quant au cadre orange, j'aime bien! C'est le grand fond blanc qui me dérange plutôt.

Voilà! C'est tout ce que je peux ajouter! Mais comme tous les goûts sont dans la nature, c'est à toi que reviens la décision finale... Ce n'est que mon humble opinion!

it is impressing.
In designing part it has some theme behind it.
But detail it a little more.
your mouse cursor is good.
but even when I am using a custom cursor like that,
I feel a little uncomfortable.
I donot it is for all the users.
May be because we are used to arrows.
