fedora install problem

I've just installed fedora core2. It used a gui to install similar to windows. When it starts is it supposed to start in cmd mode or similar to windows. Mine has started in cmd and I am able to log in with thee root login and password I set during install is there a command i need to type to get it to load the windows type front end or is fedora cmd only linux?

I think it was because I was installing workstation with all packages selected. Have reinstalled as basic workstation and when I rebooted it gave me the setup screen. Very impressed with the desktop time to play now
