So, I built a site with golive and have been hosting it with Godaddy. I change the site regularly and upload modified changes. Been working fine.

Well, I tried to host another site I built with golive, and godaddy told me that as part of my hosting package the info for the new site will be sent to the same ftp site.

Then I uploaded my new site to the same ftp, but both sites had a index page and the new site wrote over the other site and present at both web addresses.

I tried to fix it by changing the name of the index page on the new site, but that didn't work. Now both sites are down. Then out of frustration I decided to erase every file on the ftp site, and try to upload the original site again, but now the wheels are just spinning and spinning. Maybe it just takes a long time becasue it is the entire site, but maybe I just F'ed up.

any suggestions - I know there are some knowledgable people out there - and I am rather ignorant on this subject.

Now I got the original site back online by adding the files to the FTP through Cyberduck. How do I host two golive built websites on the same FTP site when golive creates the same folders for each? I tried adding a word after the end of each file and transferring the files through cybersuck, but now both domain names lead to the original site. HEAD ACHES, have to sleep.

I know there are simple answers out there.

Let me get this straight. Your host, godaddy, told you to upload the new site to the exact some ftp location? That sounds fishy. The other site may be on the same server as the first one, but would need different ftp log-on id and password... hmm... it's also possible they are setting up the second site as a add-on domain, in which case the second site would be uploaded into a subdir of the first site.

Contact your host and verify both log-in id's and ftp locations.

I figured this out with the help of godaddy customer support.
