CR XIR2, Oracle 9

I would search the Knowledge Base for this but I'm not sure how to form the question...

In CR10, there were a couple of time-savers that seem to have disappeared in XIR2. I am wondering if anyone knows how to activate these or if they are just GONE ???

1) In CR10, clicking the down arrow button in the Font Face box would let you use a keystroke as a list filter. For example, if the default font was Times New Roman and you wanted to switch to Arial, you could just hit the "A" key and the list would re-sort itself to the "A"s so you could quickly select Arial. If you kept spelling Arial, the list would narrow down. This is a pretty common function in Windows (I think it is called auto-complete or something like that.) In XIR2, no filtering occurs so you have to scroll to your target font (which can sometimes be difficult to locate).

2) When making multiple field selections for common formatting, a keystroke would auto-select the function. For example, if you selected an entire row of detail fields and wanted to make them all the same size, you could right-click and hit the "S" key and the Size menu would automatically pop up with the first item in the list already selected ("same width"). In XIR2, you have to move the cursor over each item to select.

Is there any way to re-capture these features ?? I did a quick scan of the registry but did not see anything that caught my attention.

Thanks

Hi I'm not sure what to wirte here but if you are talking about the loss of auto complete in pick lists I am also wondering the same thing.

Our users have many items in a pick list (sometimes up to 1000) and where as in CR10 you could start writing the start of the item and the pick list would start navigating there now in XI it appears you can only choose the first letter and then pick the one you want. Eg if Something starts with the letter S and there are 150 entries starting with S you have to navigate all the way through them to find the one you want rather than simply starting the first say 3 letters eg Smi would navigate to "Smith"

Would love help on this!

I have since discovered that the Font list filter is available but only if you right click and select the Format Field option, then go to the Font tab. Not much consolation since that's 3 times as much work as using the Font toolbar list.

I still tend to develop in 10 and then save in XIR2 just so I can publish. Nothing like progress, huh?
