Feature # to reserve an outside line in a busy office?

We have more users in our office now and when I try to get an outside line at times there's none available so I just keep releasing and trying again and again until one frees up. Is there a feature that will hold the next open line for me and ring back?

forgot to mention that this is an old 90's Norstar Meridian system with M7100's and such sets.

When you press 9 for an outside line, do you see "LATER" in the display? If you don't have a display, when you get a busy signal, press F2 (ring again on)

Sounds like it's time to order new lines because if you cann't call out that also means that nobody can call in.

silver987 is right: you can use Ring Again to be notified when a line becomes available.

Some clarifications:

[li]The lines must be in the same line pool.[/li]
[li]Your set must be allowed to access the line pool.[/li]
[li]Your set must be unlocked.[/li]
[li]You must first dial the line pool access code or press the line pool button. Ring Again can be turned on when you hear the busy signal and the display reads "No free lines".[/li]
[li]Ring Again won't hold the line for you, it will only notify you that it is now available.[/li]

If you haven't already done so , you can attach the Fax line to the system , limit its access to your phone only, and Use it for emergencies or when you think it is appropriate

When or if this becomes a problem add another line at that time.
