I recently came across a sentence that claimed to be the "Longest 10 word sentence in the English Language". In researching it, I found it to be a bit of a stretch, smooshing together sometimes 2 words that I could validate in either dictionaries or web searches in other than non-reliable sources. BUT, one thing I did find was this:

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophbia

And much to my amusement, this is the word for the 'Fear of long words'. (Kind of a sick joke really...!)

I've always been a big fan of triskaidekaphobia (fear of the number 13 which would have been more amusing if it had been 13 letters long…).

I came across 2 "Fictional" fears Luposlipophobia which is the fear of being chased by timber wolves around a kitchen table in your socks, on a freshly waxed floor, (created by cartoonist Gary Larson from “The Far Side”).

And my favorite: Aibohphobia – the fear of palindromes.

So, anyone else have any good fears out there? Or ever wondered what the “Fear” of something was called?

Best Regards,
Scott

Please, God, deliver us a word that means "fear of bad grammar" so that we could instill it into KJV. Please help KJV know that "Me to" would be correct only if it were an excerpt from the sentence, "Please send me to Grammar Purgatory for my sins against the English Language.

Ask and ye shall recieve ;-)***
kakosgrammatikiphobia

kakos = "bad"
grammatiki = "grammar"

Thanks, Dan, for filling a high-profile omission in the Phobia List. (Notice your addition, above, to the list.) Hava

Politicophobia- Fear or abnormal dislike of politicians.

This is a very fitting one with the primary battles going on right now. This begs the question...what exactly is an "abnormal dislike" of politicians?

Queen Fiona indeed!

I fear no phobia. But then, ah aint askeered of nuthin.
Most phobia's are just that, nuthin'.
I may be grammatically challenged, but I talk to people who don't understand me anyway. Im fine, they're not. {note proper use of they're!} Aw, now Im not so challenged after all.
