Hi

We have a setup where FCS is suppose to send sms to our avaya wireless ip phone. The OAI box is configured with all the phones and application is showing active and the phones are checked in.On the FCS interface when a message is send it says extension not active. What would be the problem. We did test it with Nortel IP phones and this worked fine.

What PBX do you have and what kind of phones?

When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys!

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

From your text messaging box you should make sure that you can ping the OAI and svp servers. Perhaps they are on separate networks and cannot see each other. Also I have not idea what FCS is and I suppose that Nurse Call has the wrong letters. ; )

Lots of acronyms to spread around. If you have a Polycom-spectralink Open Application Interface box in your polycom/spectralink wireless system then it can interface with many products that can generate text messaging and those messages can be sent and received on the phones. The typical application is in a hospital where a Nurse Call system is installed in the patient room. A patient can press one of the buttons on the remote control or intalled on the wall and a text message will be sent to the group of programmed phones.
Easy! :)

Thanks a lot all its working now..The FCS needed some upgrade..
