I have a E4500 with I/O Card and an Additional SBUS FC100/S connected. The IO Card also has FC25/S builtin.

Both the FC100/S and FC25/S are connected to A5000 array. But only the FC25/S connection is working.

#luxadm fcal

However /usr/platform/sun4u/sbin/prtdiag -v shows the card is inserted:

The 501-3060 checks out on sunsolve as FC100/S

However when I do probe-fcal-all I only get the FC25/S showing up...

Luxadm shows that the 2nd link is not up

I have tried to update the FCAL PROM but LUXADM fails too se the card!

Hi i have the same problem. did you get a work around for this ? Please keep me posted..

Hi Micosat,

You got this exactly reversed :)

"I have a E4500 with I/O Card and an Additional SBUS FC100/S connected. The IO Card also has FC25/S builtin."

Actually the prtconf output shows that the FC100 functionality is built-into the IO board - the FC/25S is the SBus card you've got plugged in. You can prove this by taking out the IO board and checking the part number on the SBus card and see for yourself.

The clue is here:

"========================= IO Cards =========================

Bus Freq
Brd Type MHz Slot Name Model
--- ---- ---- ---------- -------------------------------- ----------------------
1 SBus 25 0 SUNW,soc 501-2069
1 SBus 25 1 SUNW,soc 501-2069
1 SBus 25 3 SUNW,hme
1 SBus 25 3 SUNW,fas/sd (block)
1 SBus 25 13 SUNW,socal/sf (scsi-3) 501-3060"

Slot 13 = built-in :) So the built-in fibre connector pair is 100MB/s and so it is correct that the A5x00 works when connected to here. The A5x00 is 100MB/s only. The older SSA is 25MB/s only and one of them would work on either of the 2 SOC HBA SBus cards which you have installed in that IO board.

Does that make sense now?
