FC direct connect

Hi There,

I would like to know if there is a possibility to connect directly an AiX box to a tape library via FC without SAN switch.

Both device has FC adapters, now they are connected via SAN switch, but for some reasons we would like to avoid the switch for this connection.

My theory is like this

will it work?

I have an AIX box connected directly to an EMC box, so I see no reason why a tape would not work

Looks like you already have your answer, but we also have a 3494 directly connected with FC, so it will work.
