FB 1000 SMTP

We are trying to replace a coblt cube with a firebox 1000.
We have two ips, one that the cube is currently using. Right now the cube is a firewall and handing our email to our exchange server.
The firebox is using the other ip and all it's job is firewall and two vpn connections.

We have tried to exchange the external IPs (for DNS reasons) of the firebox and the cube and setup SMTP on the firebox to hand off email to the exchange server. It's doesn't work the exchange server que fills up with out going email after we change the ip in MS exchange to the firebox ip.

So we need help. If you need more information let me know.

how is the firebox configured dropin or dmz ?

Can the mail server gain access to the

http://www when

connected via the firebox ?

my first thought if its dmz is that you need to set up the smtp proxy filter > from : any > to 'add NAT from the external ip to the internal dmz ip'
