We are using the 4 analog ports on the BCM50 for fax machines. We have a PRI with Target Lines pointed to the Analog DN. When you try to send or recieve a fax it attempts to connect but it will not go through. It gets a transmit or recieve error everytime. We also tried an ATA on a digital port and had the same problem.

Has anyone else experienced this same problem and found a fix?

Fax problems behind a system with PRI/T1 is usually the result of misconfigured clocking on the T-1. Make sure your clock source is set to Primary External.

I've started to see some PRI circuits out there that come out of a Cisco router - the voice is delivered via IP, and the PRI connection is between the router and system. Modem and fax calls don't like that very much. Works with some providers, others it doesn't. But, if you have a traditional PRI directly to the CO, it's most likely a clock issue.

It was the clocking. Thanks very much for your help.
