Faxing over IP trunk?

I want to have my fax. It will go through Ip trunking. What are the necessary setting to consider in setting it up?

its necessary that you config the ip codec set like:

IP Codec Set

Allow Direct-IP Multimedia? y
Maximum Call Rate for Direct-IP Multimedia: 384:Kbits

Mode Redundancy
FAX t.38-standard 0
Modem pass-through 0
TDD/TTY US 3
Clear-channel n 0

Just for basics, make sure the firmware on your boards (CLAN, Medpro, etc) are up to date.

Thanks for the reply. That is really the setting that I choose for my Ip codec? Also, what codec is advisable? G.11 or G.729.

To randyb, my system is G700/S8300. What are the firmwares that need to be updated?
