Faxes not going thru on BCM 400 1

We upgraded our site to a BCM 400 Rls 3.7 from a MICS 7.1. We have a T-1 with DID's and all outgoing calls go thru the T-1. We had faxes set up on Analog Station Modules and they worked fine. Now we have a BCM with ATA's and the faxes are garbled. We have since changed the outgoing route for faxes from the T-1 to basic business lines that are programmed as backup lines and now the outgoing faxes work. What went wrong?

Check your clock source for the DTM. I had a similar issue on a BCM 400 4.0 and it turned out the the DTM was set as a master clock source instead of the primary slave. We never
noticed any slips on the voice calls but it sure did mess with
the faxes.
