Fax via ATA on CICS 4.1

I am trying to connect a fax machine via the I ATA or an external ATA2 unit on a two phone line office with hunting. My client would like to transfer an incomming call to the fax, but at the same time just be able to dial a number on the fax machine and have it pick up a line. I have tried to set it up on both the i ata and also via ata2 on a digital port. When the port is not hotlined, the fax can be transferred just fine, but when you try to make an outgoing fax, the ata will not pick up the line. When I hotline the port and make it dial the external line with the pause feature, the call can be transferred from the first line and then an outgoing fax will work just fine. The problem is that all calls incomming calls to line two are then automatically sent to the fax and the other ports don't ring? Any suggestions on how to accomplish this request without a dedicated fax line?

Did you try assign lines to a pool and then dialing pool access code on fax?

I believe by default, the ATA picks up intercon first and cannot be changed. Therefor you must dial a pool digit to get out. But...it will answer an assigned line............
