We had our system upgraded from 4.1 (27) to 4.1 (44) last Friday. It was discovered that the 5 people who use HP all-in-ones can longer send faxes, but can receive. I tested the line by hooking up an analog set and I was able to dial out without any troubles. All the faxes are set to dial 9 as a prefix. The faxes all have a dial tone. However, after the faxes dial the string of numbers its like the digits/tones never leave the fax machine. I have tried unplugging everything, but that did nothing. The strange thing is that we have some Panasonic faxes that bypass the IP Office system. When I connected the Panasonic fax to a line normally occupied by an HP all-in-one it was able to send a fax. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
John

I found a workaround. It seems that the system is having difficulty recognizing 9 when the faxes are set to autodial the prefix. Now you must dial 9 whan a dial tone is heard in order for the faxes to work properly.

I have the same problem w/ outbound, but I'm confused. We dial 9 but the fax is not set to automatically dial 9. Is that what you meant?

Also, my understanding is that IPO does not support fax speeds above 14.4...true/false?

4.1 (44) will be firmware of the phone module!

Are you able to confirm the base unit is on 2.1(44)?
Not just the phone/DT modules

Hello,

I had the same experience with modems dialing out.
It is the 2.1(44) software for the phonemodule.
The Phone module can't keep up with your faxmachines (and with my modems). Looking in callstatus you'll see that you're missing digits (perhaps only one but that's enough!)
2.1(51) will cure this. In my case (2.1(51) wasn't already available I downgraded only de Phonemodule to 2.1(35)

So upgrade at least the phonemodule to 2.1(51)

Succes,

Escorthosis

When we upgraded to 2.1(51), I was glad that the faxs worked properly again.
