We have been having an ongoing issue with analog lines on a fax server. We have four analog lines going into a fax server that are arranged in a linear hunt (the 4th port in the fax server hunts/forwards to a regular fax machine). These ports are configured as 500 ports in the PBX that have LDTA and FAXA in their class of service. However, about once every 1-2 days, these lines lock up where the first line in the group appears busy even though when tracing the call there is no one connected to the line. When this occurs, anyone faxing, receives a ring no answer and I have to manually disable and re-enable the line in order for it to become idle. What could resolve this? Here is an example of the first 2 500 ports of the server.

mcheck to see if the iao trunks are sup=no and ndec and fdec are eth.. usual for a station to hang when the trunk didn't see a remote diconect. yon might try to turn the jumper over to see if that might help. very seldom a problem, but i have seen it help.

John,

These are DID trunks. I don't see these prompts that you are referring to on the trunk..

Thanks

are the did's pri, t1 or analog?

pri are the last thing i would expect to see a disco problem from, mon the dch and see if your getting a page form the dch on disconect. if it's just the fax machines, they, being analog, are using a set of timers for signals to/from the switch. you may shorten your flash timers, if the switch sees the disco as a flash it can hang.

1st, I'd set WTA to WTD, not that this has anyhting to do with your issue. You could try changing the LDTT time in LD15. These problems are usually an integration issue between the PBX & Fax Server. Can you change settings in the Fax Server. You will probably need to experiment. I needed to change LDTT to 10s for Dictation service using Dialogic cards
