Anyone use the fax on an analog port through the IPOFFICE?

I have a customer who wants to consolidate phone lines, I read somewhere that the IPOFFICE detects fax tones and can forward from say an incomming main line to a analog port/fax machine without the need for a dedicated fax line. Is this true or urban myth? If so how reliable is it and is it hard to setup with integrated vm? Or is VMPro a better choice all around?

Regards,

Al

you should be able to use the "Blind Transfer" action and select the Fax option.

to do this all incoming calls would be routed through VM Pro as mentioned above. Be sure to read all the install docs for Fax setup, specifically you need to setup a system fax destination before the F routing will work as mentioned above.

Yes you can do this, how depends on what kind of vm.

Embedded can detect fax tones in v4. There is an F touce tone in the AA.

VM Pro can detect fax tones by creating a new touch tone F in a menu.

VM Lite you cant.

Thank you.
I'm gonna hope embedded is enough for their call load and try it that way.
