Fax over VoIP on version 2.(16)

I have 2 sites where one calls on other sites ISDN2 line. However i have a problem with a FAX being routed back to its origin(well thats what i think that happens) because of SCs that route ext calls between offices.
The office with the ISDN is running 2.(16) and other office 2.1.(24).
Any ideas? is it a software problem(again thats what i think)?

Hard to speculate without a look at your shortcodes. But - right off the bat I would get both sites on the same firmware. Given that your not in north america, I would bring them both to 2.0.18, and see if the problem still occurs. If yes - post more details!

I have set up a test and it shows that it was not a software issue. Guess i have to check the config again.
Could it be a VPN issue?

I also had problems with faxing between 2.0 and 2.1. Solution was putting both sites on 2.0(18) and everyhting worked fine.

Nope, in fact it was 2.1(15) and we had lots of other issues that's why we decide to go back to 2.0(18).
