Hi all

We setup the fax service on server 2003, works just fine from the server.
Tried to set this up on the pc's (XP Pro) and cant get it to work.

PC's can see the shared fax on the sever (you can set it up no problem) but when you click on file and try to send a fax its greyed out.
Looks like a permissions thing but can find the answer anywhere...
Anyone know the answer ?

THanks
G

Have you installed the Shared Fax Client software on the PCs?

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Mark

Hi Mark

I went into add a printer and added the fax that was shared out by the server. Do I need to install other software on the client ?

Thanks
George

Hi Mark

I installed that \\server\faxclient

but still no good, the options are still greyed out in the file menu.

Any other ideas ?

Thanks
George

ps clients are xp sp1 - server 2003

Hi George, is your server an SBS Box? I think the client I was referring to only shops with SBS.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Hi Mark

The server is server 2003 only, not sbs.
The server comes with client software at \\server\faxclient
We installed this but this did not make any difference. (this is suppose to be only for pre xp machines)

We added every possible user/group and gave them full permissions on the server but that did not work either.

Anyone out there know what the problem ?

Thanks
George

Hello All,

I have received a request to bring 2 ISDN/PRI circuits with DID into our Definity G3R Version 8 and send them back out to a faxserver with brooktrout ISDN/PRI cards. The reason for this is the ability to generate CDR reports on call volume. I've brought the circuits into the switch successfully but don't know exactly how to send them back out as circuits to the Faxserver. I'm assuming I need to create two more ds1's, an outbound trunk group and physically connect them to the server. I could really use some help if anyone has done this before.

Thanks

smartinmich, you should start your own thread for this question to get a better response.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

opps, sorry about that I thought I was starting a new thread. Thanks for letting me know.

Have you check Send Faxes under the Transmission settings on the server in MS Fax Service Manager
