just installed BCM400 on DASS. The third channel is allocated on a DID to the fax machine. I have programmed a Target Line to point to the fax. We can make calls out from the fax, but unable to receive incoming. Does anyone have any idea what i may have done wrong?

Cheers

Check if fax is connected to an ATA or is on an ASM port.

Try to point that target line to another phone for comparison.

Confirm the fax number is within range of the telco number block.

Make sure other DID's are working correctly. This one would rule out the question regarding if the telco is sending the right protocol for the BCM.

It is on an ATA2, all other DID's are functioning ok. We have since found that all analogue devices connected to ATA's have problems.
One of them is a modem, it dials out, connects, handshakes, then after 10 seconds drops the line. tried all manner of settings as per the CD, but to no avail.
We put the BCM in as a replacement for a Norstar Compact, and they had no problems at all on the old system.
Contacted support, but still waiting for feedback.

i have a similar issue with ASM8 on a BCM 1000. The port can dial out but cannt receive incoming calls, seeeems to be a bug.

Another thing to check is the DTM clock source. Make sure it's set to primary, NOT master.

I've come across fax problems when interfacing with a TimeWarner Integral Access box that supplies the PRI to the BCM. At other sites using a PRI without that IA box, it works fine.
