Hi

An Clint have MICS with digital lines PRI-A and the Faxes have an ATA connected to convert digital extension to analogue
extension onto the Fax.

The Digital lines is converted with somehing called encore protocol converter and then sned to the MICS Card.

I have an certain phone number assigned to ring at the
fax since all the lines are digital.

I can make call to and from the fax but once
sending or receiving an fax it terminates after 30 seconds i think and the rapport from the fax is telling me error in transmission. and the fax tells me to call the sending fax to try again.

The fax itself works it is an HP1010 and to POTS i have no problem send no receive faxes, changed an ATA hat i do not works fine and the problem remains, when i attach the new ATA to the fax and ask them to send a test sheet i got a sheet all right but only half of the page and the next one does not come out at all saying error in transmission.

The ATA setting tells me modem and i have the option phone as well but that should not be the one.

Erased the memory of the fax and tried again but no fax is sent only telling me me error in transmission but i can grab the phone on the fax and make a call or receive without any problems.

Suspecting the digital lines since fax working my ATA does not make any difference so ATA is fine an digital lines fin as well i suppose as i can make and receive call but upon sending fax the fax responds and star doing something and the transmission goes down.

remember that there is a speed limit on quasi-analog signals (modem tones) going thru an ata of 24K or 28K If you are looking at a new fax machine you may need to program a speed limit of about 19.2k.

Can you have your carrier trap one of the fax calls and see what ISDN Cause code they get that drops the call? Also what Protocol are you set to?

Hi

Yes the PRI is set to Primary and well the TELCO tells me that the lines get blocket every now and then and they deblock the timeslot 1 and the system is upp and running an while and blocks the TELCO again ...

I guess i find the problem or at least it is working right
now will check with the customer in a week to see if problem still persist or is solved.

The thing is that in the 2 port Encore the clock sync was set to internal and not to trunk 1 or TELCO that suposely provides with sync ...

Could that be the case ??? it works right now but since it work fine sometimes and some other times not time should tell ...
