Ok, so I have a Fax machine that logs in to a new queue (8802) on a Meridian 81c. If I call the queue directly, through the 800# pointing to it, or the DID of the phone itself, it just rings. If I pick up the phone I can talk to the other party, but it never rings on the fax machine itself. I've tested this w/ both a known working analog handset and the fax machine in question and it's definately the line or the queue, not the machine itself. Below is the setup for both the queue and the line itself. Any help would be appreciated.

If you plug a traditional analog phone in place of the fax ,machine, make sure the phone rings - in other words, could the card or ring generator be part of the prob.

The try it two ways: Internal - then external - to see of Distictive Ringing (it may not be active at all of course) might be a cadence the fax machine can't respond to.

I did place an analog test phone (known good) in the fax machine's place and it didn't ring either.

I've tested it logged in to the queue, no ring, but if you pick up, the caller is there.

I've tested it logged out of the queue and calling the DID externally. Again, no ring, but caller is there when you pick up.

I've also tested it logged out and calling the DID and extension from an internal phone. Same results.

Look at the inside of your IPE shelves and take note of the power card(s) off to the left of the line and trunks cards.

If you see two distinct power cards, one will be called Ring Gen(erator)

If you see it, your analog line card is bad, if you do not see the ring generator, no ring will be generated of course.

Try setting FAXA in CLS or swap over FALC Card during a quiet period
Cheers!!

I agree with GHTrout. If you are missing the ring generator, the ringer on the ohone will not ring. It rings, you just wont hear it. Fax machine requires that the ringer be tripped before it will answer or can be answered.

If your calling and can manually answer the line, then the problem is as stated by GHTROUT and dcrocker22754. the phone is not getting and RING Voltage. You can do all the programming you want, but no Voltage / no ring. You either don't have a ring Gen on that shelf or the 500 card port is bad.
