Fax Lines, second line only rings

Good Day,
I have two fax lines that were working perfectly fine. One of the fax line is still working well, but the second line lately it just rings. BCM version 3.7,Nortel BCM 400. I checked the physical line and looks good. But when a fax tries to send all it does keeps on ringing and never keeps up.

Have you plugged a SL into the port to see if it rings

When you say you checked and looks good do you mean you can call out ok?

Are we to assume that the fax lines are connected to ATA's on the BCM?

Have you checked programming for the ATA and have you looked at the Monitor to see whats going on? digits dialed etc.

I took the cable and tested it using a regular phone and can I dial my cell for example. But when I dial that number
It keeps on ringing with no answer. I am guessing it's an issue with the phone line provider.

Well you need to use your test set on the line before the phone system to make that assessment.

If however it is not using an ATA (you still have not said) then perhaps your correct.

There was an issue caused by bell. They came in to add someones else phone line and disconnected my fax line. Bell came in and connected my line again and things working great.
