Hi guys,

I have an location that are able to send fax but no receive.

I did an practice run on my avaya demo on how to setup an fax and it works. All I had to do was to find the analog extension lets say 100 / port 7. I create an user for that 100 and directed the fax number at the incoming call route to 100. I call from my cell and it connects with the fax machine. The machine is an all in one printer, same as the site location.

The site location is using POTS. I asked them to do a fax test to my cell and it connects because I see the incoming #, based on this I can confirm that the fax is plugged into the analog port 7/8. But when I try to setup the fax # just like I did here with the demo setup I get an dialing tone (maybe 45 secs) and then I get an voicemail. They are using version 9.0.

Is there anything else I can try?

Things I tried are,
1. Call sequence to normal
2. Bearer capability is at any voice
3. Caller display type "Off

You need to setup a incoming call route and enter the lineID of the faxline at he main page and the fax extension as the target extension in the target page

Thanks I think I get it,

Create user "Fax 123"
Create a new line group ID for the fax incoming number like "1".
Set destination "123 Fax"
Set the analogue trunks to incoming ID to "1"

Are you also saying that the fax # line group id should be separate from the other # that are associated with "0"?
Fax # = "1"
All other # = "0

yes that is what he meant.
You need to separate the fax line as incoming faxes are always coming on that trunk and the system has to know that this needs to go to the fax machine and not just follow the path of all other lines.

Will report back,

Ok I tried to configure during most of the day.

1. I have created a new id "1" for that analogue trunk, incoming and outgoing.
2. Created an user "fax" for that analogue extension port 7.
3. Made an new ARS for the fax, including short code to dial 8 then outside number.
4. Set that fax number line group id to "1".
5. Everything else besides "1" is "0".

Called the number and it reaches voicemail after dialing tone. Hmm.

Delete the DDI number in incoming call route, not supported on analog trunks.
Beside that it looks OK to me

Thanks but still no work after deleting. [banghead]

intrigrant, I did a search for other topics regarding this subject and it seems you came across this very same one 9 years ago lol.

Really? I can't remember, here we don't have analog lins for about five years now so I have no recent experience with them.
I suggest you take a monitor trace and catch a incoming call then I can see what goes wrong.
Enable shortcodes in the call filter and everything in the ATM filter,
