Hello,

I am currently importing a .PST file into a new computer (Outlook 2003) and noticed that the settings for the 'Favorite Folders' were not imported. This is in the 'Mail' view on the left hand side where on top you can drag and drop folders into.

Is is possible to export these settings in use it in the new setup or does this have to be setup from the start? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Kei

If I understand your question, you want the old folders to show up automatically in the Favorites of a new machine? That can't be done because the new install of Outlook assumes you will add favorites as they become your favorites (did that make sense?) But the easiest way to get them there is to just grab the PST name in the mail view, and drag it to the favorites window.

Hope this helps.

Sawedoff, not really. I just wanted the folders I had in the 'Favorite Folders' to appear on a new Outlook profile when I imported the .pst file. It looks like it can't be done.

If anyone knows of any good third party software that might get this accomplished as well as exporting rules and such, I would appreciate the info.

Thanks,
Kei

Hi,

The outlook's favorite folder is saved in this file :
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.xml

Just copy it to your new PC and your Favorite Folders will get back
