Hey guys I am getting ready to recommend a new ant-virus prog here at my office and wondered what you guys (or gals if you are from the south) think. My main concern would be for server managment of the virus def and updates and also good scanning of email. We host 30+ companies emails here and would like us to stop the virus explosion here at the gateway. Any comments appreciated!!1

We use Norton - Corporate Edition. We switched from McAfee about a year ago and have not had a single problem. The server gets the updates and the clients are automatically updated from the server files, reducing internet traffic.

We use a product called Antigen made by Sybari ( for scanning our email server (exchange 5.5). We have been using this product for about 2 years and havent had any problems out of it.

For workstations we use Mcafee, but I can't say I haven't had my share of mcafee vshield problems.

Thanks for your comments like to see what everybody likes to use. I am thinking of using Declude and F-prot to scan Imail and might am deciding between Fprot for everything else or Norton Corporate.

For E-mail have a look at I heard about on the radio yesterday. You can open e-mails from outside of your computer so virus can't get in. Many other features too! A good free virus prog is InnoculateIT.
Good luck P

TrendMicro [antivirus.com] supply good applications.
Scanmail for Exchange
ServerProtect for Dataservers
VirusWall for gateways

check them out, I use them and have no problems with viruses.
