We have an AMD K62/500 AT-form, VIA chip no-name board.
Drive is Fujitsu 10gb and has been fully tested to include full diagnostic and low level format.
We install Windows '98 SE and everything seems just fine. No errors during the installation of the O/S or anything else.
The PC is accidently shut down (power off) and when turned back on, Win.com or other files are reported missing.
When trying to restore the missing file or files, message says FAT (file allocation table)is corrupt.
This has happened three time now. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
P.S. No boot viruses present - this has been checked.
