Fat 32 partition missing

I have a machine running Windows 95 that has a 2 gig FAT16 patition, and a 6 gig FAT 32 partition. During normal operations the FAT 32 partition displays symbols where the directory names should be, and when I reboot the partition disapears. I have Fdisk'd the computer and recreated the partitions, and reformatted. Then it happened a second time. I have run Norton, scandisk, and even tried Fdisk/ mbr. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What type of symbols do you mean? When you say that the partition disappears, do you mean you lost all of your info that was on it o ryou can not see it? Any problems with the FAT 16 partition? <p>Joe<br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= > </a><br>

If you don't need the both partitions, I would use a program like partition magic to merge the two and if possible use fat32. Also, I would try to boot w/ a win98 disk and use fdisk that came w/ 98 to do &quot;fdisk /mbr&quot;. The reason the fat32 partition might not be seen is b/c you used fdisk from 95. Fat32 became standard w/ win98 so the old mbr might not initialize the fat32 partition or even see it. I'm confident that if you try the later of my tips, you'll have success. Good luck!

I have a 20G HDD and I partitioned it into 4 drives ( this is my second HDD, first is the bootable with winME installed ), when using FDisk, i accidentally set the disk the active status, and after i reboot my system, my partition ( all the drives ) disappeared!! and it said that the disk is unformatted and is a RAW disk? wat should i do??

I have 2 hard disks.one of 40 GB & one of 20 GB. The partition from the 20 GB is damaged.the data is still there bun i can;t acces the drive.Plz give me a software with witch i can repair my broken partition(i use FAT 32 partition)
