On a Definity / Comm Manager, the end user can end a dial sequence with a "#" to let the system know this is the end of the dial pattern.

Is there a similar function on IP Office?

yes there is
dial # :)

Some of the system shortcodes have # in them to demark then end of the digit entry.

Eg logging onto a handset *35*EXT*Password#

Using the # sign does not appear to have any effect. Using standard analog lines, user dials 9+1+AC+Number six to seven seconds before ringing. Same hold true when using the # sign. Digit timer set to 3 seconds.

give some moreinfo about your timers

what do you have set for dial delay timer and dial delay count ???

Delay timer = 3
Delay count = 0

In our area we dial either 10 digits for local or 11 digits for domestic LD. We use 10 X's to match local or 1 + 10 X's to match domestic LD. Once the last digit is dialed, there is no delay before a trunk is selected.

We use 0 as delay count in NZ for the new PRA ISDN Lite, the shortcode for our local calls is XXXXXXX; 7 digits for our local calls, then the semi column thing at the end.
Then separate entries the same for 8,9,10,11,12 digit numbers etc.

Not sure how this will go with POTS lines, but good info anyhow i hope???

From the Short Codes Help in Manager App....

Dialing Complete

Receive sending complete. When used this must be the last character in the short code string. It instructs the system to wait for the number to be fully dialed, using the Dial Delay Time or the user dialing #, before acting on the short code

The majority of North-American telephony services use en-bloc dialing. Therefore the use of a ; is recommended at the end of all dialing short codes that use an N. This is also recommended for all dialing where secondary dial tone short codes are being used.
