When I try to reach an outside line i get dial tone...yet when the number is dialed it comes back with a fast busy, also I cannot get an outside calls in. I have a ticket with the telco provider, but is there any thing i can look at in the switch ( commands, etc) that will show me something? Thank you so much!

You can try:

status trunk-group <number>

Do this for each trunk group to see which one is out of service.

After that, I'd run the command:

disp alarms

This will show you if you have a problem with your PBX (or a circuit card) rather than the outside lines. Warning alarms on circuit cards associated with outside lines are probably caused by the circuit outage.

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)

Thanks a lot, i will try this. Do you happen to know what card is used for a trunk..

It depends on the type of trunks you're using.

Analog line trunks are typically:
TN747
TN753
TN429

Digital line trunks will typically use:

TN464
TN767

This is not a complete list. If you're unsure, you should contact your maintenance provider for service.
