FAQ184-1033 Index file Rebuild function 1

I try the rebuilt function, but there are problem with the key generated. The index of origianl table is set to Primary key type, after the rebuilt function, it change to Regular type. Any solution to it? Also, anyone can tell me why the index file always have problem after doing a modification of a record(The modification didn't change the Primary.)

Hi wanderaround,

That FAQ code does not take care of index types other than normal.

The code can be modified to take care of such index as well. The way is.. you loop thru the indexses to find.. using PRIMARY() or CANDIDATE() and collect the values.

Then in the index command, suitably do a DO CASE statement
and create the index according to type.

May be, if time permits, I will modify the FAQ.
Good a need has arisen to modify the code, that later on, others can find that handy. Thanks
