What exactly are you trying to do?

When I go to the page you linked to, I see a huge amount of stuff that is not related to VFP - movie reviews and such? - and no download links. Can you point us to exactly what we should be looking at.

Mike

Ah, I see what you mean. The problem was that the link quoted by the FAQ was to the home page of some sort of a blog, and this has inevitably changed many times since the FAQ was posted.

Anyway, I found a download page for the file in question here:

Obviously, I can't vouch for this page; I just found it by searching for ps2pdf.zip in Google.

I don't see how this differs from a printer driver, but there also is
foxypreviewer to create PDFs, or any PDF printer driver, eg Bullzip PDF, many, many, many more.

I know a library, which really is totally different, in that it allows you to fill PDF forms: The Amyuni products, specifically for VFP of course no .NET asssembly or Silverlilght component, but good OLE COM, that means ActiveX:

@Mike, I found ps2pdf.zip and download it. Thank you.

Worked ? or not. Installation process is not easy for end-user. What I expect is ... My setup.exe should install everything is needed including myapp.exe, VFP runtime, pdf supporting ... etc., ... and should run normally.

Well which is it?

Nothing is stopping you. Building an installer is part of YOUR job. If you have the pieces (and appropriate distribution license), then you can build your own installer.

Is there a problem here?

In this article the author explains how to put the two drivers as binary information in a binary memo field and using strtofile() installing them on the fly if they are not installed on the client's machine.

Your burdening yourself with much more installation of postscript and adobe, than just installing eg BullzipPDF printer driver.

Bye, Olaf.

@Mike Gagnon , Thank you very much. Reading your posted link.

@Olaf, Exactly true, "burdening... " I found most impressive this it does not create and advertisement popups. and its free.

Thanks & Best Regards.

I don't know any free PDF printer driver doing advertising popups.

Bye, Olaf.

OK,

feee PDF printer drivers without any advertising: BullzipPDF, PDFWriter, 7-PDF (free for private/nnocommercial use), PrimoPDF, PDFCreator, CUPS-PDF, ...

You'll find many suggestions searching the forum or google. If you call the progeress window of PDFCreator showing it's logo
advertising, ok. I won't mind that and won't count that as advertising.

There are a lot more costing a little fee per installation you can calculate into your software price. I've had excellent printing of even Excel footer/header sections other PDF drivers missed with

Last not Least also FoxyPreviewer is free, free of advertising and can generate PDFs with or without preview and other user intervention. FoxyPreviwer Docs reveal Foxypreviewer.App is extracting libhpdf.dll from itself during the first run. This library is by Takeshi Kano. So all you need to give users is write access to the folder where FoxyPreviewer.App is installed or use it once and put the above mentioned DLL into your setup. That's all.

Bye, Olaf.

PS: it would be fine to donate anyway, eg look at There actually is a commercial version of BullZipPDF, if you embed it into your commercial application.

And I would go for FoxyPreviewer anyway.

MY TODAYS JOB.

REPORT FORM xxx TO FILE xxx.ps NOCONSOLE NODIALOG

creates ps file and gs907w32 (ghostscript) can convert to pdf. Its most easies option. Printer driver is not necessary. Now I am ready to fight for how to install ghostscript on-fly.

Reading Mike Gagnon 's link.

That's your decision. I can't assist you with that. All I know is you'd need to GPL your own application when bundling it with ghoscript and it's not a simple silent setup. But you may know more details about the current state than I.

Bye, Olaf.
