In the documentation, there are many references to fan traps causing problems when objects are selected from two or more tables. The typical comment is "The results are normally noticeably wrong when these objects involve aggregate functions at two separate points along the fan".

I'm ok with the reasons for this, but I can't find any examples of what happens when dimension objects only are chosen. The comment above suggests that this might not be too much of a problem. Does anyone have a clearer explanation?

Hi,
If you select only dimension objects then you would get duplicates in your report. which could be suppressed by applying breaks on those objects.

hope this is enough

Thanks
Ajit
