Falc 1 Slip

I just replaced an old 406 with a new IP500, all seems to be working well, except that I am getting an odd message in the monitor, here's a printout:

Anyone know what could be causing this?

It could be a number of things, the hardware on the card carrier may not be as good as what was on the 406's mother board, the firmware may not be as well written...who knows, the LEC isn't very good if they will not even re-locate their equipment, isn't that what you pay them for, I have re-located many NTE's in the past and BT are as awkward as they get

Ah how I would love to be services by BT. You don't know terrible until Verizon is your LEC, we have a 45-60 day lead time to get a plain old analogue line here. Fortunately most of our offices are in AT&T territory and they are very fast and strangely cooperative.

I always put it in the sames rack as where the ipo is !!!

Here the LEC puts the NIU at the MPOE and 9/10 times that's not where your switch is located and the LEC won't move it from the MPOE since they would consider that customer wiring and they won't put an NIU on customer wire.

In the USA the MPOE is typically 12 inches inside the building's outer wall, that's as far as they will go.

Then they shoul pull there own wire to move it
Then it is there wiring and every body is happy
But if they don't move it then i do it myself

I only wish it was that simple. Anything beyond the legal MPOE is the customer's property, even if the LEC does the wiring, I'd move it myself but it's in a locked steel enclosure that only Verizon has the key to and I'm sure they'd be hopping mad if they found it missing. Then of course they would claim they couldn't help you in the future because their loop includes a span of customer wiring.

Oh well, I'm just going to call the LEC and complain and see where that goes. Thanks guys.

Sounds like most US providors are stubborn lazy gets, who hide behind rules and quote regulations as an excuse for not having to do any work other than the absolutle minimum necessary......a bit like British binmen.....and they both talk rubbish and most of their work stinks

Sigh, so true. Thus is my lot in life. As I said, I would give my right hand to have BT sometimes. How sick is that?
