failing to run informix service

hie,
i run informix Dynamic Server Version 7.31.TC5 on a windows nt platform.
when i start the informix service and try to run a command, the sevice shutsdown. i am getting the following errors

It looks like the disk has failed.
1. Just check the all disks and the directory where informix data resides.
a. This also happens if the machine has less space[very rarely!].
b. Make sure that the machine has atleast 50-75 MB free space.
c. Try writing a simple junk file in the directory where data resides and try retrieving it.
2. Just check the NTFS partition [which we usually create while installing informix s/w].
